Former governor and current mayoral candidate Andrew Cuomo has made a bold pledge to his voters.
Cuomo’s tenure as governor ended in scandal as an investigation by the Department of Justice concluded that Cuomo sexually harassed at least 13 women in the work environment. The scandal led to Cuomo's resignation as governor in August 2021.
Years later Cuomo bravely put the DOJ’s investigation behind him and announced his candidacy for mayor in March 2025.
However, some voters still aren’t sold on Cuomo as the legal fees accrued by his sexual harassment scandal cost New York state taxpayers 60 million dollars.
As mayor, Cuomo says things will be different:
“We New Yorkers cannot continue to spend tax dollars on these frivolous sexual harassment legal fees, as mayor I promise to make legal fees such as these more affordable for all, which will greatly reduce our spending,” Cuomo told a crowd of reporters this Saturday.
But he didn’t stop there.
“As mayor, I will cut down greatly on any grab-ass and booby-fondling activities, and will only commit sexual harassment when appropriate,” he stated.
The crowd of press applauded Cuomo’s cost-cutting pledge to New York voters.
Referring back to Cuomo’s Italian heritage defense of the 2021 sexual harassment scandal, a reporter asked him “Will your Italian heritage conflict with your commitment to not engage in sexual harassment?”
“Certainly it will, but I’ll have to work around it.” Cuomo then grabbed a female reporter to illustrate his point.
“Previously, when I’d see a beautiful woman like this, I’d kiss her hello on the cheek.” Cuomo kissed the woman.
“Then maybe while I’m kissing her, I’d hug her, but my hand might go a little low and ‘accidentally’ grab her ass like such,” Cuomo said groping the reporter’s ass.
“Things like that are tradition in Italian culture, but not up to the standards of today, and I acknowledge that. That’ll be all toots.” He said as he thanked the reporter for her use as a prop.
Another reporter then questioned Cuomo on the $60 million in taxpayer money he used for his legal fees.
“Don’t you think that you’re the least qualified person to be speaking on the matter since you spent tens of millions of taxpayer dollars on your legal fees?” The reporter asked.
“Quite the contrary.” Cuomo retorted. “My experience with sexual harassment legal fees means I know how much these things cost, and when the New York taxpayer is getting ripped off. Also, you have to remember I was governor for 10 years so that $60 million figure is really only $6 million a year.”
Cuomo is confident that as mayor he’ll spend even less than $6 million annually on sexual harassment legal fees, a claim no other mayoral candidate has been daring enough to make.
