“Finally, people will hesitate before engaging in their reckless illness-obtaining lifestyles,” said Speaker of the House Mike Johnson.
While Donald Trump’s “big beautiful bill” is taken up in the Senate, Republicans are diligently working to justify the Medicaid cuts included within it. As the bill currently stands, it will remove Medicaid coverage from approximately 15 million Americans and cut 600 billion dollars from the program by 2034.
Congressional Republicans have been doing media rounds to scold the American people for their heavy reliance on government handouts.
“For years and years, people have been throwing caution to the wind, knowing if anything happens, Medicaid will be there to save them. Well, this is what happens when you abuse the system: you force us to take it away,” said Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) during a Fox News appearance this Sunday.
Mace continued to tell the Fox correspondents that they’re “not doing this to hurt the American people. We just want them to learn not to get sick.”
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) has given those who will be affected by the Medicaid cuts a word of advice:
“Medicaid has been spending billions annually on phony mental illness cases, and it’s about time we cut this needless fraudulent, wasteful spending. How can a mental illness exist if we can’t even see it? If you’re someone who believes you’re depressed or anxious and no longer have Medicaid, please go buy a gun, it will make you feel so much better.”
Cruz and Mace weren’t the only Republicans happy to share their delights of the proposed Medicaid cuts; Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) addressed the cuts in the Congressional Press Gallary this Monday:
“Lots of people get sick because they’re not careful enough. Then, they leach off the government to help them after they’ve already made the choice to get sick. I was recently made aware of this 6-year-old girl named Annabell Harrington from my home state of Louisiana,” Johnson spoke as he held up a photo of Annabell Harrington to the press. “Well, I hope this little freeloader thinks twice the next time she decides to get leukemia,” he stated as he used scissors to cut her photo in half.
Johnson added that he hopes the higher costs of healthcare will discourage people from getting cancer, diabetes, arthritis, heart disease, and other disease of any kind.
Trump weighed in on the Medicaid cuts in the Oval Office this Monday:
“These cuts won’t have any effect on the majority of Medicaid recipients. You’ll only notice the cuts if you’re poor and stupid. Once broke idiots don’t have Medicaid, they’ll either have to stop being sick or stop being poor. Either way, it will grow the economy tremendously.” Trump stated.
The bill is currently working its way through the Senate, where education cuts are being debated to teach the children how to read without help.
More great work Nick. Keep it going!!!
